Notes Apprenticed locally (in Toronto) and in Winnipeg for 40 years, beginning with a short-lived partnership with Francis S. Baker. His son, G. Roper Gouinlock, was in partnership with Hugh L. Allward in the 1920a, a firm which continued under Allward's nephew Peter L. allward, as Allward & Gouinlock

Originally was the North American headquarters of the Independent Order of Foresters (a men's service club), and was one of the first true sykscrapers in Toronto.
