Notes Settled in York (Toronto, Ont.) in 1802. . . .In addition to medicine and law Baldwin occasionally turned his hand to architecture, at which he seems to have been a talented amateur. He built Spadina House in 1818 and resided there unitl it burned in 1835, when he replaced it on site with a smaller house in stucco and built a large brick home ( at Front and Bay) in York. - Eric Arthur, No Mean City.
