See also: Eden Smith and Sons. Architect's name is actually a double unhyphenated surname -- he never used his Chrisitan name. Emigrated to Canada in1885. By, 1887, was working as a draughtsman for the Toronto architectural firm of Strickland & Symons, then set up his own practice. Formed partnership with Eustace Bird which lasted from 1895-1899. Noted for his involvement with the Toronto Housing Company as well as the development of the Wychwood Park neighbourhood (conceived as as artists' colony by painter Marmaduke Mathews). |
