Sparling, who converted and operated it as the "Casa Loma Hotel" from 1925-1929. It then was re-gained by the Lady Pellatt estate, which operated it for another six months. In 1934 it was purchased by the City of Toronto for $27,305.45. In 1937, the Kiwanis Club began leasing the property from the city in order to operate a tourist facility.
