Was purchased by Rogers Communications in order to function as the new head offices and facilities for Rogers Communications Inc. and Rogers Cablesystems. The adjacent building (no. 1 Mount Pleasant Road -- the former Conferation Life Building) functions as the headquarters for Rogers Cantel. The two buildings are connected via an overhead walkway and a tunnel.

Notes: Occupies the site of the Cawthra House, built in 1852 and demolished in May 1948 - SEE: no. 275 Bay Street. The Bank of Nova Scotia was designed by John M. Lyle in 1928/1929 but built by Mathers & Haldenby (with Beck & Eadie) in 1949-1951. Carved bas-relief panels on the facade designed and executed by sculptor Fred Winkler.
